The Foundation Pup Academy
A Six Week Course for Confident, Connected Puppies
The Foundation Pup Academy is a carefully structured six-week course designed to give puppies the very best start in life.

Rather than rushing into “commands”, we focus on how puppies learn, how they feel, and how to build a strong working partnership based on clarity, trust, and enjoyment.
This course is ideal for young puppies and adolescent dogs who need solid foundations built in the right order.

Classes
Loose lead walking isn't taught as a behaviour alone, it's built on engagement, reward placement and clear communication from the very beginning.
Pups should be encouraged to explore without pressure.
Allowing them the time to investigate their surroundings, supports healthy socialisation, emotional confidence
and curiosity.
I offer 1-2-1 training sessions at £40 per hour,
home visits, and enrichment walks in the
New Forest National Park (season dependant).
Where appropriate, sessions can be child-led, supporting children to learning safe, calm and confident interactions with their dog.
Training & Professional Development
Puppies are encouraged to offer behaviours, rather than be
placed into them.
This builds confidence and understanding,
Bronze/Silver/Gold Levels

Once pup has completed the Foundation Pup Academy, training doesn’t stop, it evolves.
​
Dogs can progress through Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels, each designed to strengthen and refine the foundations already in place, gradually increasing challenge, understanding, and confidence.
Rather than simply adding more “commands”, each level focuses on:

Increased duration, distance, and distraction

Stronger engagement and focus

Helping dogs think, problem-solve, and work happily alongside their handler.
Variety, Enrichment & Real-World Skills
As dogs move through the levels, we also introduce a variety of activities to keep learning engaging and meaningful.
These may include:

Scent work – developing focus, calm problem-solving, and natural ability

Rally foundations – teamwork, precision, and movement together

Working towards the KC Good Citizen Levels

Gundog-inspired exercises – appropriate retrieving, steadiness, and cooperation

This variety helps dogs become well-rounded learners, preventing boredom, building confidence, and allowing each dog to discover what they enjoy most.
​The Aim
The goal is not perfection.
It’s a dog who feels capable, confident, and connected, with skills that transfer into everyday life.
Training should be stimulating, rewarding, and FUN for both ends of the lead.
